Lydia Newlands

Kia ora, my name is Lydia. My current mahi, alongside being at home with my daughter, is contracting to the Champions Project, running PYDA trainings. Before heading off on maternity leave in 2023, I worked for SADD/Kaitiaki o Ara, as the programme delivery team lead.

I have been working in the youth work/community development sector since 2011, working in a range of roles such as in a youth centre running programmes there, working in a high-school doing 24-7 youth work and managing the team there, running a youth group, and have done a stint of residential youth work as well.

I'm stoked to be involved with Rerenga Awa giving back to the youth work sector, and hopefully helping continue to strengthen it!
